The Station Volunteer Program (previously known as Stationeers) engages volunteers across Victoria to beautify station precincts across the metropolitan and regional rail network.
Station Volunteers play a crucial role in transforming rail precincts into welcoming, attractive community spaces.

These dedicated individuals and groups engage in various hands-on activities, including planting, weeding, mulching, removing litter, and general garden maintenance, to beautify the station surrounds.

Beyond the aesthetic improvements, this volunteer work fosters a strong sense of community spirit, provides social connection for participants of all ages, and can contribute to a safer, more pleasant environment for daily commuters.

Volunteers are individuals who generously dedicate their time and effort to support the maintenance and enhancement of green spaces surrounding station precincts.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds, sharing a common passion for gardening, nature, and community engagement.

There are currently 48 station volunteer groups.

How the program is funded
