Bridge Naming Competition - Huntly Fosterville Rd (voting phase)
The Huntly-Fosterville Road Bridge, located north of Bendigo, is the first of 40 high-risk bridges to be named under VicTrack’s online bridge naming competition.
Bridge names are important in helping to determine precise locations during emergency events and natural disaster responses. Names can also reflect the culture and heritage of the bridges relevant to a local community.
In late 2015, VicTrack called for community nominations to name the Huntly – Fosterville Road Bridge. This was followed by a community to vote on a final shortlist of five of the nominations, which reflect the local people, concepts and history that have shaped this area.
