How to become a supplier

VicTrack engages a diverse range of suppliers and contractors to provide critical goods and services to help support Victoria’s transport system.

Overview

There are three steps to becoming a VicTrack supplier:

  • Step 1: Register with Fair Jobs Code (for any proposed construction, goods or services)

VicTrack is a Victorian Government Agency and is bound by the Victorian Fair Jobs Code.

This code applies to all suppliers bidding for goods, services and construction procurement worth $1 million or more, and businesses applying for significant business expansion grants of $500,000 or more where new jobs are a key deliverable.

The code also applies to subcontractors delivering work worth $10 million or more on procurements of $20 million or more.

There are two requirements for adherence to the Fair Jobs Code:

To learn more about your obligations under the code, visit guidelines for suppliers and business.

  • Step 2: Register with the Victorian Government as a potential supplier

A large proportion of VicTrack’s purchases are made through state contracts and registers.

While some of these agreements are open to all suppliers, many are updated periodically and are then mandated.

Agencies cannot source outside of these agreements except under special arrangement.

Download a list of categories where VicTrack must source using a state agreement and/or system.

All prospective suppliers should pre-register with Buying for VIC (Tenders) to ensure you can respond to activities listed on VicTrack’s procurement activity plan.

Buying for VIC is also used periodically to refresh VicTrack’s internal panel arrangements.

  • Step 3: Watch out for requests for quotes, tenders or EOIs and provide responses

Once you have registered,  you can watch out for quotes, tenders or EOIs that we have advertised on these platforms.

There are two ways to do this:

    1. Read VicTrack’s Procurement Activity Plan, to see when potential activities may be released.

    2. Search the Buying for VIC (Tenders) website for Advance Tender Notices and open activities.
