VicTrack’s station precinct development at Glen Waverley, delivered in partnership with Consolidated Properties, has won another prestigious property industry award.
The IKON Glen Waverley development and station forecourt upgrade won the national award for ‘Government Leadership’ at the Property Council of Australia’s (PCA) Innovation and Excellence Awards in Sydney, beating five other projects from across Australia.
Recognition from the Property Council of Australia is a further accolade for the project, which has already received an award for planning excellence ‘From Plan to Place’ from the Planning Institute of Australia’s (PIA) Victorian awards, and a commendation for the same category at the PIA National Awards.
The Glen Waverley Station precinct project was completed in 2014. The centrepiece of the redevelopment is the IKON development, containing 116 apartments, nine offices as well as ground floor commercial and retail space on the doorstep of public transport.
Part of the proceeds from the IKON development funded station forecourt upgrades, creating a vibrant transport hub that benefits the whole Glen Waverley community and brings the station precinct to life throughout the day and night.
As land owner, VicTrack focuses on opportunities to revitalise and improve transport precincts, unlocking land no longer required for transport and working with the private sector to generate revenue to reinvest in other transport and community projects.
VicTrack’s next station precinct development is being delivered in partnership with developer Neometro at Jewell Station in Brunswick. A planning permit has been granted and Neometro will be commencing the sales and marketing campaign in July 2016.
