Regional passenger information displays

During 2015, we managed the installation of new passenger information systems at V/Line stations.

We rolled out the new technology at 33 stations on the Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Gippsland lines, to give regional train travellers access to real-time travel information.

The equipment includes electronic displays, public address announcement messages and customer information points, which provide automated, accurate and timely information about train times, service changes and platform alterations.

They also allow V/Line to provide up-to-the-minute information to their customers if there is a disruption or incident.

As the information is provided in both audio and visual formats, it is accessible by customers with hearing and visual impairments.

We installed the systems at the following stations:

Bendigo line
Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton, Malmsbury, Castlemaine, Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo

Gippsland line
Nar Nar Goon, Tynong, Garfield, Bunyip, Longwarry, Drouin, Warragul, Yarragon, Trafalgar, Moe Morwell, Traralgon

Geelong line
Little River, Lara, Corio, Geelong, North Shore, North Geelong

Ballarat line
Rockbank, Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat

We managed the project on behalf of Public Transport Victoria. Works were carried out on our behalf by contractors 4Tel, Axent, Metromatics and Linktech.
