Rail crossing upgrades

We are delivering upgrades to level and pedestrian crossings across Victoria, to make them safer for vehicles, pedestrians and rail users.

State Level Crossing Upgrade Program

We have been delivering for the State Level Crossing Upgrade Program since 1997 - a rolling program of rail crossing upgrades across the state.

Works at crossings include fitting electromagnetic latches, to ensure people can get off the tracks if they get caught between the automatic gates when they close.

The completed crossings under the current program are at:

  • Upper end of the platform, Keilor Plains
  • Paschke Cresent, Lalor
  • Upper end of Beaconsfield Station, pedestrian crossing
  • Old Calder Highway, Diggers Rest

Upgrades are taking place at:

  • Rules West Rd, Pimpinio
  • Pura Pura Vite Vite Rd, Vite Vite

Please note: some sites have more than one crossing.
